Tuesday's 15-game MLB board produced two teams going for road sweeps, a shutout in Philadelphia, and Miami dropping 14 runs at altitude. The NBA and NHL are in their offseasons.

Detroit Tigers, 9 — New York Yankees, 3. The night's marquee result. Detroit handled the Yankees again at Yankee Stadium, taking a 2-0 series lead after winning Monday's opener 7-3 and following it with a nine-run Tuesday. New York faces a home sweep Wednesday at 1:35 PM ET.
Miami Marlins, 14 — Colorado Rockies, 3. Miami's biggest win of the road trip. The Marlins scored 14 at Coors Field and won by 11, with the two-game series total now standing at 24 Marlins runs to Colorado's 10. The series continues Wednesday at 8:40 PM ET.
Washington Nationals, 8 — Boston Red Sox, 1. Washington limited Boston to one run at Fenway Park and won by six. The Nationals took the series opener convincingly on Boston's home field.
Philadelphia Phillies, 8 — Pittsburgh Pirates, 0. Philadelphia shut out Pittsburgh two days after the Pirates scored 11 on them. Citizens Bank Park turned over quickly — 0 runs allowed Tuesday after Monday's 11-7 loss.
Chicago White Sox, 9 — Baltimore Orioles, 3. Chicago won by six at Camden Yards, sweeping the first two games of the series in Baltimore. The White Sox go for the sweep Wednesday at 12:35 PM ET.
Texas Rangers, 4 — Cleveland Guardians, 2. Texas won by two in Cleveland, taking the second straight in the series. Rangers up 2-0 heading into Wednesday's 1:10 PM ET game.
New York Mets, 3 — Toronto Blue Jays, 0. New York shut out Toronto at Rogers Centre, bouncing back after Monday's 2-1 loss to even the series at one game apiece.
Milwaukee Brewers, 7 — Cincinnati Reds, 2. Milwaukee won by five at American Family Field, their second straight home win after Monday's 5-3 result. Brewers up 2-0 in the series before Wednesday's national ESPN game at 8 PM ET.
Tampa Bay Rays, 10 — Kansas City Royals, 4. Tampa Bay scored 10 in Kansas City and won by six, taking the series opener at Kauffman Stadium.
Chicago Cubs, 9 — San Diego Padres, 7. Chicago won a back-and-forth game at Wrigley Field, holding off San Diego by two. The Cubs are up 2-0 in the series after Monday's 3-2 win. Wednesday's rematch goes at 2:20 PM ET.
Houston Astros, 6 — Minnesota Twins, 4. Houston evened the series at one apiece with a two-run home win at Minute Maid Park. The Twins won Monday's opener 5-4.
Seattle Mariners, 8 — Los Angeles Angels, 3. Seattle won by five at T-Mobile Park, their second straight home win over Los Angeles. Mariners and Angels have a scheduled off day Wednesday.
Los Angeles Dodgers, 9 — Oakland Athletics, 3. Los Angeles scored nine for the second straight night in Oakland, winning by six to go up 2-0 in the series. The Dodgers scored nine in Monday's 9-3 win as well. Game 3 goes Wednesday at 9:40 PM ET.
Arizona Diamondbacks, 8 — San Francisco Giants, 2. Arizona won by six at Chase Field, taking the series opener convincingly at home.
St. Louis Cardinals, 5 — Atlanta Braves, 3. St. Louis won by two on the road at Truist Park, taking the series opener in Atlanta.
What to watch tonight
Fourteen Wednesday games run from noon through late on the West Coast.
- MLB: Detroit Tigers at New York Yankees, 1:35 PM ET on MLB.TV. Detroit arrives with a 2-0 series lead after wins of 7-3 and 9-3. New York needs a home win to avoid a sweep at Yankee Stadium.
- MLB: Cincinnati Reds at Milwaukee Brewers, 8:00 PM ET on ESPN / MLB.TV. The prime-time national game. Milwaukee is up 2-0 in the series. Cincinnati heads to American Family Field needing a win to stay alive.
- MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers at Oakland Athletics, 9:40 PM ET on MLB.TV. The Dodgers have scored nine in both games of this series. Oakland faces a home sweep in the late finale.
