San Diego Padres 5, Washington Nationals 4. Washington (67-80) out-hit San Diego (77-68) 7-6 and led 4-1 entering the eighth, but the Padres answered with four runs in the inning to escape with a 5-4 win.

New York Mets 7, Miami Marlins 5. Miami (72-74) out-hit New York (67-78) 10-8 and rallied with four runs in the sixth, but the Mets' fast start — three runs by the second, seven by the fifth — held up in a 7-5 final.
