Milwaukee (91-56) built a 7-0 lead through three innings and needed every bit of it — Chicago (81-66) scored five runs in the ninth trying to complete the comeback, but ran out of outs two runs short. The result stretches Milwaukee's NL Central lead over Chicago to 10 games.

Baltimore Orioles 9, Cleveland Guardians 5. Cleveland led 2-0 after the first inning, but Baltimore answered with an eight-run third — the biggest single inning of the night — and held on despite a three-run Cleveland sixth.
