Knicks edge Spurs 105-104 in NBA Finals Game 2, take 2-0 series lead. Freeman walks off Angels for Dodgers. Fifteen MLB games. NHL dark before SCF Game 3.

Friday belonged to New York. The Knicks survived a 29-point night from Victor Wembanyama and stole Game 2 in San Antonio 105-104, taking a 2-0 grip on the NBA Finals before the series swings back to Madison Square Garden. The NHL board was dark for the Stanley Cup Final off-day, with Game 3 set for Saturday in Las Vegas. Fifteen MLB games rounded out the night, headlined by Freddie Freeman's walk-off in the Freeway Series and a pair of 14-plus-run blowouts.

NBA — NBA Finals, Game 2

New York Knicks, 105 — San Antonio Spurs, 104. Karl-Anthony Towns went for 21 points and 13 rebounds as New York held off a 29-point night from Victor Wembanyama to take Game 2 by one. Series: NY leads series 2-0. Game 3 is Monday at Madison Square Garden — the Spurs now have to win three of the next five with two of them on the road.

NHL — No games

The NHL board was dark, the scheduled off-day between Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday and Game 3 Saturday in Las Vegas. The series is tied 1-1.

MLB — Fifteen-game Friday board

A full Friday slate. The Dodgers won the Freeway Series opener on a Freeman walk-off, the Giants and Nationals hung blowout lines on the road, and three shutouts hit the board.

San Francisco Giants, 18 — Chicago Cubs, 3. The Giants ran away from the Cubs at Wrigley, the night's biggest counting line.

Washington Nationals, 14 — Arizona Diamondbacks, 1. Washington hung a 14-spot on Arizona in Phoenix, walking back the Diamondbacks' Thursday upset of the Dodgers.

Baltimore Orioles, 13 — Toronto Blue Jays, 3. Baltimore steamrolled Toronto on the road in the AL East series opener.

St. Louis Cardinals, 10 — Cincinnati Reds, 3. St. Louis took the home opener of the NL Central series by seven.

Milwaukee Brewers, 9 — Colorado Rockies, 7. A Coors Field slugfest, Milwaukee out-hit the Rockies by two in a back-and-forth Friday night.

Philadelphia Phillies, 8 — Chicago White Sox, 6. The Phillies took the home opener over the White Sox by two.

Detroit Tigers, 7 — Seattle Mariners, 3. Detroit took the home series opener over Seattle by four.

Atlanta Braves, 6 — Pittsburgh Pirates, 3. Atlanta opened the home series with a three-run win over Pittsburgh.

Tampa Bay Rays, 6 — Miami Marlins, 0. Tampa Bay shut out Miami on the road in the in-state series opener.

Boston Red Sox, 5 — New York Yankees, 3. Boston took the rivalry opener in the Bronx by two.

Houston Astros, 5 — Athletics, 1. Houston held the Athletics to a single run at Daikin Park.

Minnesota Twins, 5 — Kansas City Royals, 3. Minnesota took the home AL Central opener over Kansas City by two.

New York Mets, 5 — San Diego Padres, 0. The Mets shut out the Padres on the road in the late West window.

Texas Rangers, 3 — Cleveland Guardians, 2. Texas edged Cleveland at home by one.

Los Angeles Dodgers, 1 — Los Angeles Angels, 0. Freddie Freeman's solo home run walked off the Angels in the Freeway Series opener at Dodger Stadium, capping a tight pitching duel.

What to watch tonight
