Philadelphia Phillies, 6 — St. Louis Cardinals, 5. Philadelphia led 4-2 through seven and tacked on two more in the eighth, but St. Louis answered right back with three of its own that inning to cut it to 6-5. The Cardinals, who committed two errors, couldn't complete the comeback and stranded the tying run in the ninth.
Tampa Bay Rays, 10 — Athletics, 6. The Rays trailed 6-2 entering the eighth before an eight-run inning turned a competitive game into a rout. Tampa Bay finished with 12 hits to Oakland's 10, and each side committed an error.
Arizona Diamondbacks, 9 — Colorado Rockies, 0. Arizona never trailed, scoring four in the first and three more in the second to make it 7-0 before Colorado had an answer. The Diamondbacks out-hit the Rockies 10-5, and Colorado's lone error compounded the shutout.
