Washington Nationals, 23 — Oakland Athletics, 4. Andrés Chaparro went 4-for-5 with eight RBI as Washington turned Friday night in Oakland into a rout. The Nationals scored across the lineup in a 23-run performance that produced a 19-run margin — the kind of result that moves run differential for both teams in a meaningful way. Oakland had no answer once Washington found its footing early.
Los Angeles Dodgers, 2 — New York Yankees, 1. A tight one at Yankee Stadium in the series opener. Los Angeles held on for a narrow road win, with pitching carrying the result on both sides. The Dodgers took the opener by a single run.
Boston Red Sox, 10 — Tampa Bay Rays, 0 (DH G1); Boston Red Sox, 5 — Tampa Bay Rays, 3 (DH G2). The Red Sox swept both ends at Fenway Park. The first game was a makeup from May 9 — a 10-0 shutout. Boston then held off Tampa Bay 5-3 in the nightcap to complete the sweep.
Atlanta Braves, 15 — Texas Rangers, 1. Atlanta scored early and often at Truist Park in game two of the second half. The 14-run margin left little to discuss.
