Hockey night closed a series. Vegas put Anaheim away 5-1 in Game 6 to reach the Western Conference Finals, and Montreal won a six-goal road game in Buffalo to take a 3-2 lead in the East semis. The NBA was dark between Game 5s. MLB ran an 11-game Thursday with three blowouts and only one one-run finish.

Vegas Golden Knights, 5 — Anaheim Ducks, 1. Vegas wins Game 6 by four to take the West 2nd Round 4-2 and book the Western Conference Finals. Mitch Marner set the tone with a between-the-legs goal in the first period; Anaheim's season ends in the second round.
Montreal Canadiens, 6 — Buffalo Sabres, 3. Montreal wins Game 5 by three on the road to lead the East 2nd Round 3-2. The Canadiens are now one win from the Eastern Conference Finals, with Game 6 back in Montreal.
MLB — 11-game Thursday, Reds blow it open, Cubs shut out Sale
Eleven games, three double-digit nights, one one-run finish. The Cubs handed Chris Sale his quietest start of the night.
Chicago Cubs, 2 — Atlanta Braves, 0. Chicago wins by two on the road, shutting out Sale's Braves in the Thursday MLB marquee.
Cincinnati Reds, 15 — Washington Nationals, 1. Cincinnati wins by 14 in the night's biggest blowout.
Minnesota Twins, 9 — Miami Marlins, 1. Minnesota wins by eight at home.
New York Mets, 9 — Detroit Tigers, 4. New York wins by five with five home runs, sweeping Detroit at Citi Field.
Pittsburgh Pirates, 7 — Colorado Rockies, 2. Pittsburgh wins by five at home.
Milwaukee Brewers, 7 — San Diego Padres, 1. Milwaukee wins by six.
Seattle Mariners, 8 — Houston Astros, 3. Seattle wins by five in an AL West Thursday.
Philadelphia Phillies, 3 — Boston Red Sox, 1. Philadelphia wins by two in an interleague finish.
Chicago White Sox, 6 — Kansas City Royals, 2. Chicago wins by four in an AL Central matchup.
Los Angeles Dodgers, 5 — San Francisco Giants, 2. Los Angeles wins by three to close the rivalry series.
St. Louis Cardinals, 5 — Athletics, 4. St. Louis wins by one — the only one-run finish on the board.
What to watch tonight
