Thunder sweep the Suns 131-122 to advance. Penguins stay alive 3-2 in Pittsburgh. Vegas wins it in OT 5-4. Jokic posts 27-12-16 to push Denver.

Monday delivered a Thunder sweep in Phoenix, a Jokic triple-double that kept Denver alive, an overtime winner in Salt Lake, and a tight Penguins win that sends Philly-Pittsburgh back home for Game 6.

NBA Playoffs — Thunder finish Phoenix, Jokic forces Game 6, Magic up 3-1

Two Game 4s and a Game 5. OKC closes out the Suns, Orlando moves to the brink in Detroit, and Denver answers a Game 5 with a Jokic triple-double.

Oklahoma City Thunder, 131 — Phoenix Suns, 122. OKC wins the series 4-0. The Thunder finished a sweep on the road and become the third team out of round one. Phoenix went down by nine in Game 4; OKC heads to round two with rest in hand.

Orlando Magic, 94 — Detroit Pistons, 88. Orlando leads the series 3-1. The Magic won by six at home and now have a chance to close out in Game 5. Detroit kept it within a possession late in a low-90s game.

Denver Nuggets, 125 — Minnesota Timberwolves, 113. Minnesota leads the series 3-2. Nikola Jokic posted 27 points, 12 rebounds, and 16 assists to push Denver past Minnesota at home and force a Game 6. The Wolves had been one win from advancing on Sunday; now they head back to Minnesota with the series still in their hands.

NHL Playoffs — Penguins stay alive, Vegas wins it in OT

Two playoff games. Pittsburgh holds off elimination at home; Vegas evens the West first round on a late overtime winner.

Pittsburgh Penguins, 3 — Philadelphia Flyers, 2. Philadelphia leads the series 3-2. The Penguins took Game 5 by one to stay alive and send the series back to Philadelphia for Game 6. Pittsburgh had won Game 4 4-2 on Saturday to keep the series breathing; this one goes in the same column.

Vegas Golden Knights, 5 — Utah Mammoth, 4 (OT). Series tied 2-2. Shea Theodore's snap shot with 51.5 seconds left in overtime lifted Vegas after the Knights blew a three-goal lead. The series heads back to Las Vegas for Game 5 dead even.

MLB — Twins crush Seattle, Padres edge Cubs, Boston shuts out Toronto

Eight games on the Monday board. Minnesota piled on Seattle, the Padres held off Chicago in a 16-run game, and Boston blanked the Blue Jays.

Minnesota Twins, 11 — Seattle Mariners, 4. Minnesota wins by seven at home. The Twins put up double-digit runs to take the opener.

San Diego Padres, 9 — Chicago Cubs, 7. San Diego wins by two at home in a 16-run game. Randy Vasquez goes to 3-0 with a 2.94 ERA after picking up the win.

Chicago White Sox, 8 — Los Angeles Angels, 7. Chicago White Sox edge the Angels by one at home. The Angels dropped a one-run game on the road.

Los Angeles Dodgers, 5 — Miami Marlins, 4. LA wins by one at home in a tight finish. The Dodgers hold off Miami in the late window.

New York Yankees, 4 — Texas Rangers, 2. New York wins by two on the road. The Yankees bounce back after dropping the rubber in Houston and now look ahead to deGrom on Tuesday.

Boston Red Sox, 5 — Toronto Blue Jays, 0. Boston shuts out Toronto on the road. Five runs and a zero on the board for the Red Sox in the series opener.

Tampa Bay Rays, 3 — Cleveland Guardians, 2. Tampa edges Cleveland by one on the road. A one-run win to open the series in Cleveland.

St. Louis Cardinals, 4 — Pittsburgh Pirates, 2. St. Louis wins by two on the road. The Cardinals take the opener in Pittsburgh.

What to watch tonight

Tuesday is Game 5 night across the NBA and NHL.

  • NBA: Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics, 7:00 PM ET on ESPN. Game 5. Boston leads 3-1 and gets a chance to close out at home after blowing Philly out 128-96 on Sunday.
  • NHL: Anaheim Ducks at Edmonton Oilers, 10:00 PM ET on TNT. Game 5. Anaheim leads 3-1; McDavid and the Oilers face elimination at home.
  • MLB: New York Yankees at Texas Rangers, 8:05 PM ET on Prime Video. Jacob deGrom takes the ball at Globe Life. The Yankees counter with rookie Cam Schlittler.
  • NBA: Atlanta Hawks at New York Knicks, 8:00 PM ET on NBC/Peacock. Game 5. The night's only NBA series tied 2-2, with home court swinging back to New York.
  • NHL: Boston Bruins at Buffalo Sabres, 7:30 PM ET on TNT. Game 5. Buffalo up 3-1 looking to finish the Bruins after the 6-1 statement in Game 4.
