Avalanche sweep the Kings 5-1. Rockets stop the Lakers' sweep 115-96. Celtics rout Sixers 128-96. Sabres up 3-1 in Boston. Astros take the rubber from NY 7-4.

Sunday delivered four NBA Game 4s, four NHL Game 4s including Colorado finishing the Kings, and 16 MLB games headlined by a Mexico City slugfest, a Royals-Angels 20-run shootout, and Houston bouncing back to stop New York from sweeping.

NBA Playoffs — Celtics rout Philly, Rockets save the series, Cavs lose the series lead

Four Game 4s. Boston blew Philly out, San Antonio kept stacking, Houston stopped the sweep, and Toronto evened it.

Boston Celtics, 128 — Philadelphia 76ers, 96. Boston leads the series 3-1. The Celtics won by 32 in Philadelphia and head home with a chance to close. Philly came in 1-1 after winning Game 2 at the Garden; they have lost the last two by an average of 25 points and now stare at a 3-1 hole.

San Antonio Spurs, 114 — Portland Trail Blazers, 93. San Antonio leads the series 3-1. The Spurs won by 21 on the road and put themselves in a Game 5 close-out spot at home. Portland had won Game 1 to flip the script early; they have now dropped three straight by double digits.

Houston Rockets, 115 — Los Angeles Lakers, 96. Los Angeles leads the series 3-1. Houston wins by 19 on home court to stop the sweep. The Lakers had a chance to close out after a Game 3 OT win in Houston; the Rockets answered with a 19-point home win and live to play Game 5 in LA.

Toronto Raptors, 93 — Cleveland Cavaliers, 89. Series tied 2-2. Toronto wins by four at home to even the series after coming in trailing 2-1. The Cavs dropped a tight one and now head back to Cleveland for Game 5 with the series flat.

NHL Playoffs — Avalanche finish the Kings, Sabres dominate Boston, Ducks win in OT

Four Game 4s. Colorado completed the second sweep of the round, Buffalo took control, Anaheim went up 3-1 in OT, and Tampa evened it in Montreal.

Colorado Avalanche, 5 — Los Angeles Kings, 1. Colorado wins the series 4-0. The Avs are the second team to advance after Carolina finished Ottawa on Saturday. Colorado outscored LA across the series and cruised in Game 4 by four. Onto round two with rest in hand.

Buffalo Sabres, 6 — Boston Bruins, 1. Buffalo leads the series 3-1. The Sabres won by five at home and now go to Boston with a chance to close out. Boston is staring at a 3-1 hole and has lost the last two by a combined 11-3.

Anaheim Ducks, 4 — Edmonton Oilers, 3 (OT). Anaheim leads the series 3-1. The Ducks took Game 4 in overtime at home and now have a chance to finish Edmonton in the next game. McDavid and the Oilers stare at a 3-1 hole heading home.

Tampa Bay Lightning, 3 — Montreal Canadiens, 2. Series tied 2-2. Tampa wins by one in Montreal to even it. The Bolts had been down 2-1 and now head back to Tampa with home ice for a best-of-three.

MLB — Mexico City slugfest, Astros stop the sweep, Cubs shut out in LA

16 games. Arizona and San Diego combined for 19 runs in Mexico City, Kansas City and the Angels traded 20, Houston stopped the Yankees from sweeping, and the Dodgers took the rubber from Chicago by shutout.

Arizona Diamondbacks, 12 — San Diego Padres, 7. Arizona wins the Mexico City Series finale by five in a 19-run game. The D-Backs answer a 6-4 loss on Saturday with a 12-run road win to close the World Tour stop.

Kansas City Royals, 11 — Los Angeles Angels, 9. KC wins by two in a 20-run game. The Royals had run-ruled the Angels 12-1 on Saturday; this one was the bullpens trading punches, and Kansas City had the last one.

Houston Astros, 7 — New York Yankees, 4. Houston takes the rubber by three to stop the sweep. New York had won 12-4 on Friday and 8-3 on Saturday; Spencer Arrighetti got the ball Sunday and is now 3-0 with a 2.00 ERA. Yankees take the series two games to one.

Atlanta Braves, 6 — Philadelphia Phillies, 2. Atlanta wins by four at home. Chris Sale pushed his record to 5-1 with a 2.31 ERA; Aaron Nola took the loss and is now 1-3 with a 6.03 ERA. The Phillies had won 8-5 on Saturday; the Braves answered with their ace.

Los Angeles Dodgers, 6 — Chicago Cubs, 0. Dodgers shut out Chicago. Justin Wrobleski went to 4-0 with a 1.50 ERA; Shota Imanaga took the loss and is now 2-2 with a 3.15 ERA. The Dodgers take the series two games to one after Chicago opened it 6-4 on Friday.

Milwaukee Brewers, 5 — Pittsburgh Pirates, 0. Milwaukee shuts out the Pirates at home. Kyle Harrison is now 2-1 with a 2.28 ERA. The Brewers take the weekend series after dropping the first two.

Detroit Tigers, 8 — Cincinnati Reds, 3. Detroit wins by five on the road. Brant Hurter goes to 3-0 with a 2.45 ERA, and the Tigers take the series two games to one.

Boston Red Sox, 5 — Baltimore Orioles, 3. Boston wins by two on the road. Aroldis Chapman picked up his fifth save. The Red Sox follow up Saturday's 17-1 rout with a tighter win to take the series.

Toronto Blue Jays, 4 — Cleveland Guardians, 2. Toronto wins by two at home. Slade Cecconi takes the loss for Cleveland and is now 0-4 with a 6.23 ERA. The Jays take the series two games to one.

Tampa Bay Rays, 4 — Minnesota Twins, 2. Tampa wins by two and finishes the sweep. Simeon Woods Richardson drops to 0-4 with a 6.30 ERA.

Seattle Mariners, 3 — St. Louis Cardinals, 2. Seattle wins by one. The Mariners take the series two games to one after Saturday's 11-9 shootout.

Washington Nationals, 2 — Chicago White Sox, 1. Washington edges Chicago by one on the road. Lovelady gets the win and Washington takes the series.

Oakland Athletics, 2 — Texas Rangers, 1. Oakland wins a one-run game on the road. Kumar Rocker takes the loss and is now 1-2 with a 3.38 ERA.

San Francisco Giants, 6 — Miami Marlins, 3. San Francisco wins by three at home. Landen Roupp goes to 5-1 with a 2.55 ERA, and the Giants take the series.

New York Mets, 3 — Colorado Rockies, 1. Doubleheader Game 1, the makeup from Saturday's rainout. Jose Quintana gets the win for New York.

Colorado Rockies, 3 — New York Mets, 0. Doubleheader Game 2. Chase Dollander goes to 3-2 with a 2.25 ERA; Kodai Senga takes the loss and is now 0-4 with a 9.00 ERA. The teams split the doubleheader.

What to watch tonight

Monday is close-out night.

  • NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder at Phoenix Suns, 9:30 PM ET on NBC. Game 4. OKC leads 3-0 and goes for the broom in Phoenix. SGA dropped 42 in Game 3.
  • NBA: Minnesota Timberwolves at Denver Nuggets, 10:30 PM ET on NBC. Game 5. Minnesota leads 3-1 with a chance to clinch on the road in Denver.
  • NHL: Philadelphia Flyers at Pittsburgh Penguins, 7:00 PM ET on ESPN. Game 5. Philadelphia leads 3-1 and gets a chance to finish the Pens on the road; Crosby and Pittsburgh face elimination at home.
  • MLB: New York Yankees at Texas Rangers, 8:05 PM ET. Max Fried gets the ball for New York after the Yankees dropped the rubber in Houston; Texas counters with Jack Leiter.
  • NBA: Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic, 8:00 PM ET on NBC. Game 4. Orlando leads 2-1, the only series tonight tighter than 3-1.
