Boston trailed Texas 3-0 through six innings before answering with a run in the seventh and three in the eighth to win 4-3. San Diego broke a scoreless tie with seven runs in the second on its way to a 9-2 rout of Colorado, and Buffalo opened Thursday Night Football with 14 unanswered points to beat Detroit 41-31 in the Week 2 opener.

San Diego Padres 9, Colorado Rockies 2. Colorado led 1-0 after the first, but San Diego erupted for seven runs in the second and cruised from there. The Padres improve to 84-69; the Rockies fall to 56-97.

Pittsburgh Pirates 7, Milwaukee Brewers 4. Milwaukee out-hit Pittsburgh 9-7, but the Pirates' five-run second inning was too much to overcome. The loss drops the Brewers, owners of the best record in baseball, to 95-58; Pittsburgh improves to 76-77.
