Cincinnati trailed by six runs entering the ninth and scored seven of them to steal a win in San Francisco, Cleveland erased an early three-run deficit, and Baltimore held off a Cardinals rally that had erased a seven-run lead in a 15-game MLB night. No NFL preseason games were on the slate.

Cleveland Guardians, 4 — Los Angeles Angels, 3. Los Angeles built a 3-0 lead through two innings, but Cleveland (68-66) answered with single runs in the fifth and eighth before a two-run ninth completed the comeback against the Angels (52-82).
Baltimore Orioles, 8 — St. Louis Cardinals, 7. Baltimore (65-68) opened a 7-0 lead through two innings, watched St. Louis (66-68) erase nearly all of it with a six-run fifth, then answered with a run in the ninth to hold on.
Athletics, 7 — Minnesota Twins, 4. Minnesota (64-70) led 3-2 through five innings before the Athletics (53-81) scored four runs in the sixth to take the lead for good.
