Phillies bury the Mets 15-3 and the Twins outslug Arizona 16-8 in a 14-game MLB Saturday. Padres edge Texas 6-4 in 10. NBA and NHL are in the offseason.
Saturday was all baseball, and a few lineups did the heavy lifting. Philadelphia poured 15 runs on the Mets, Minnesota and Arizona combined for 24 in a 16-8 Twins win, and Cincinnati ran the Yankees out of the building 10-2. San Diego provided the only suspense that went past nine, edging Texas 6-4 in 10 innings. The NBA and NHL seasons are both over, with the Knicks and Hurricanes already crowned, so the diamond had the night to itself.
