Sunday flipped two playoff series in opposite directions. San Antonio buried Oklahoma City by 21 to even the West Finals 2-2, and Vegas pushed Colorado to a 3-0 series hole in the West Final. MLB ran 15 games — Aaron Judge ended a 0-for-RBI skid with a walk-off, the Marlins got a ninth-inning grand slam, and Reid Detmers nearly threw a perfect game in Anaheim.

NBA Playoffs — Spurs even the West Finals

San Antonio Spurs, 103 — Oklahoma City Thunder, 82. San Antonio came home and dominated. Victor Wembanyama finished with 33 points and 8 rebounds while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was held to 19 for the Thunder. The series is tied 2-2 with Game 5 heading back to Oklahoma City.

NHL — Vegas pushes Colorado to the brink

Vegas Golden Knights, 5 — Colorado Avalanche, 3. Tomáš Hertl and Mark Stone each posted a goal and an assist as Vegas took Game 3 to push the top-seeded Avalanche to the brink. The Golden Knights now lead the Western Conference Final 3-0 and can sweep into the Stanley Cup Final with a Game 4 win at T-Mobile Arena.

MLB — 15-game Sunday board

Fifteen games across the slate. The Cardinals-Reds Sunday game got rained out (makeup Aug. 17), but everything else played. Marquee moments: a Judge walk-off in the Bronx, a Hernández grand slam in Miami, a near-perfect Detmers in Anaheim, and Houston-Cubs and Giants-White Sox both went for eight on offense.

Pittsburgh Pirates, 4 — Toronto Blue Jays, 1. Esmerlyn Valdez homered for his first career hit as the Pirates avoided the sweep.

Baltimore Orioles, 5 — Detroit Tigers, 3. Baltimore took Game 1 of the doubleheader makeup.

Cleveland Guardians, 3 — Philadelphia Phillies, 1. Travis Bazzana homered and Rhys Hoskins doubled in a run in the sixth.

Minnesota Twins, 6 — Boston Red Sox, 5. Brooks Lee's tiebreaking two-run single in a three-run sixth lifted Minnesota in Boston.

New York Yankees, 2 — Tampa Bay Rays, 0. Aaron Judge ended a career-worst 11-game RBI drought with a game-ending two-run homer.

Miami Marlins, 4 — New York Mets, 0. Heriberto Hernández hit a ninth-inning grand slam off Devin Williams to break it open.

Los Angeles Dodgers, 5 — Milwaukee Brewers, 1. Andy Pages cracked a two-run homer right after Kyle Tucker's tiebreaking single as LA closed the road set.

Kansas City Royals, 8 — Seattle Mariners, 6. Salvador Perez made Bryan Woo pay for an intentional walk with the bases loaded.

Houston Astros, 8 — Chicago Cubs, 5. Christian Walker's three-run homer capped a five-run fifth at Wrigley.

San Francisco Giants, 8 — Chicago White Sox, 5. Rafael Devers hit San Francisco's third grand slam in seven days.

Washington Nationals, 2 — Atlanta Braves, 1. Foster Griffin held Atlanta to three hits over six scoreless innings.

Oakland Athletics, 5 — San Diego Padres, 2. Nick Kurtz extended his on-base streak to 47 games in the win.

Arizona Diamondbacks, 9 — Colorado Rockies, 1. Corbin Carroll hit a pair of run-scoring triples in the rout.

Detroit Tigers, 4 — Baltimore Orioles, 1. The Tigers split the makeup doubleheader with a three-run Game 2.

Los Angeles Angels, 2 — Texas Rangers, 1. Reid Detmers was nearly perfect for eight innings while striking out a career-high 14.

Cardinals-Reds was postponed by rain in Cincinnati; makeup is set for Aug. 17.

What to watch next
