Last Night in Sports: May 10, 2026
Knicks sweep the Sixers 144-114 to reach the East Finals. Edwards drops 36 as Minnesota evens the West semis 2-2. Brewers walk off Yankees in a 15-game MLB Sunday.
Sunday gave us our first second-round sweep and a series reset out west. New York closed Philadelphia in a 30-point Game 4 to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, while Minnesota answered with a 36-point Anthony Edwards performance to even the West semifinals against San Antonio. Two NHL second-rounders moved in opposite directions — Montreal pulled ahead of Buffalo, and Anaheim tied things up with Vegas. Fifteen MLB games went final, capped by a walk-off Brewers sweep of the Yankees in Milwaukee.
NBA Playoffs — Knicks sweep, Wolves answer
Two Game 4s, two decisive results. New York finished the job. Minnesota refused to fall behind 3-1.
New York Knicks, 144 — Philadelphia 76ers, 114. New York wins by 30 in East semifinals Game 4 to complete a 4-0 sweep. Karl-Anthony Towns led the way with 17 points and 10 assists. New York advances to the Eastern Conference Finals; Philadelphia is eliminated.
Minnesota Timberwolves, 114 — San Antonio Spurs, 109. Minnesota wins by five in West semifinals Game 4 to even the series 2-2. Anthony Edwards erupted for 36 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Wolves back from a 2-1 hole.
NHL Playoffs — Habs grab the East lead, Ducks even the West
Two second-round games. Montreal went up 2-1 in the East with a four-goal win at home, and Anaheim leveled things with Vegas at 2-2.
Montreal Canadiens, 6 — Buffalo Sabres, 2. Montreal wins Game 3 by four to take a 2-1 lead in the East second round. Alex Newhook scored twice as the Canadiens pulled away.
Anaheim Ducks, 4 — Vegas Golden Knights, 3. Anaheim wins Game 4 by one to even the West second-round series 2-2. The series shifts back to Vegas with both teams looking for the next swing.
MLB — 15-game Sunday, Brewers walk off the Yankees
Fifteen games on the Sunday slate. Milwaukee's walk-off sweep of New York was the late drama, and Atlanta took down the Dodgers 7-2 in Los Angeles.
Miami Marlins, 5 — Washington Nationals, 2. Miami wins by three at home.
Baltimore Orioles, 2 — Oakland Athletics, 1. Baltimore wins by one at home in an AL one-run finish.
Philadelphia Phillies, 6 — Colorado Rockies, 0. Philadelphia wins by six at home with a shutout.
Tampa Bay Rays, 4 — Boston Red Sox, 1. Tampa Bay wins by three on the road in an AL East matchup.
Los Angeles Angels, 6 — Toronto Blue Jays, 1. The Angels win by five on the road.
Cincinnati Reds, 5 — Houston Astros, 0. Cincinnati wins by five at home with a shutout.
Minnesota Twins, 5 — Cleveland Guardians, 4. Minnesota wins by one on the road in an AL Central one-run finish.
Milwaukee Brewers, 4 — New York Yankees, 3. Milwaukee wins by one at home in a walk-off finish to complete the sweep over the Yankees.
Chicago White Sox, 2 — Seattle Mariners, 1. Chicago wins by one at home in a one-run finish.
Texas Rangers, 3 — Chicago Cubs, 0. Texas wins by three at home with a shutout.
San Francisco Giants, 7 — Pittsburgh Pirates, 6. San Francisco wins by one at home in the night's other one-run finish.
Atlanta Braves, 7 — Los Angeles Dodgers, 2. Atlanta wins by five on the road over the defending NL West.
Arizona Diamondbacks, 5 — New York Mets, 1. Arizona wins by four at home.
San Diego Padres, 3 — St. Louis Cardinals, 2. San Diego wins by one at home in a one-run finish.
Detroit Tigers, 6 — Kansas City Royals, 3. Detroit wins by three on the road over Kansas City.
