Cleveland was shut out for five innings in Tampa Bay, then scored in each of the last four to beat the Rays 7-3. Milwaukee needed 12 hits to the Dodgers' 3, and a two-run eighth, to win 7-4 after Los Angeles had taken a fifth-inning lead. In the NFL's only game, Buffalo (4-1) won 37-34 in overtime at Los Angeles (2-3).

Cleveland Guardians 7, Tampa Bay Rays 3. Tampa Bay (98-64) scored twice in the first and did not score again until the eighth. Cleveland (85-77) put up nothing through five, then scored in the sixth, tied it in the seventh, went ahead with two in the eighth and added three in the ninth. The Guardians finished with 14 hits to Tampa Bay's 7, and neither team committed an error.
Milwaukee Brewers 7, Los Angeles Dodgers 4. Los Angeles (100-62) led 4-3 on two runs in the top of the fifth and did not score again. Milwaukee (103-59) tied it in the bottom of the fifth, went back ahead in the sixth, and closed with two in the eighth, scoring in five different innings. The Brewers had 12 hits to the Dodgers' 3, and each team made two errors.
