Tampa Bay beat the Yankees 5-2 on a four-run fifth and five New York errors, Chicago rallied past Cleveland 4-3, and Atlanta put up 45 in New Orleans.
New York made five errors in Tampa and lost 5-2 to a Rays club (98-64) that made none. Chicago (84-78) spotted Cleveland two runs in the first inning and won anyway, out-hitting the Guardians 6-4. Atlanta (2-2) scored 45 points in New Orleans (1-3), and Dallas shut out San Jose on a four-game NHL night.

Tampa Bay Rays 5, New York Yankees 2. Tampa Bay (98-64) scored in the first, New York (93-68) tied it in the fourth, and the Rays put up four in the fifth to lead 5-1. The Yankees committed five errors to Tampa Bay's none and managed four hits against the Rays' eight. New York's second run came in the eighth, and Tampa Bay never had to bat in the ninth.
Chicago White Sox 4, Cleveland Guardians 3. Cleveland (85-77) scored twice in the first and was then blanked until the eighth. Chicago (84-78) answered with a run in the fourth and three in the sixth to lead 4-2, out-hitting the Guardians 6-4 on a night each team made an error. Cleveland got one back in the eighth and did not score in the ninth.

- MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers at Atlanta Braves, 6:00 PM ET. The Dodgers open the night in Atlanta, three and a half hours before the other MLB game starts.
- NHL: Florida Panthers at Los Angeles Kings, 10:00 PM ET. The last of the eleven games to start.
