Seattle Mariners, 7 — Milwaukee Brewers, 5. Seattle (60-67) scored seven unanswered runs in the first two innings on the road and held on as Milwaukee (78-49) — still the sport's best record — twice cut the deficit but ran out of innings. The Mariners out-hit the Brewers 10-8 despite committing two errors to Milwaukee's zero.

Kansas City Royals, 9 — Athletics, 7. Down 5-2 entering the eighth, Kansas City (54-74) scored seven runs in the inning to go up 9-5, then held off a two-run ninth from the Athletics (49-78) to escape 9-7.
